Journey II
Four hundred steps. One monastery. The whole island beneath you.
The single best viewpoint on Kastellorizo — and you have to earn it.
Behind the town, a stone staircase climbs four hundred steps up the cliff. At the top: the Monastery of Ag. Stefanos, the ancient acropolis, and the view of the entire island unfolded below.
Not hard. But not nothing. Best done before 10am or after 17:00. Bring water. The reward is out of proportion to the effort.

Itinerary
The base of the steps
Just behind the Church of Ag. Konstantinos & Eleni. The stairs begin.
First landing
Step 140-ish. You look back. The town is already small.
The plateau
Flat section at the top. Olive trees, a single goat usually.
The Monastery
Ag. Stefanos, whitewashed, 19th century. Unlocked during the day.
The Acropolis
A five-minute walk further. Ancient walls, Hellenistic era. Not restored — better that way.
Sunset
If you've timed it: this is the view for the final hour. No better spot on the island.
