Journey IV
Surreal. Almost unreal. Boat-only.
Inside the cave, the sea glows from below. No photograph prepares you.
The Blue Cave — Γαλάζιο Σπήλαιο — is Kastellorizo's most quietly famous miracle. It has no footpath, no signage, no land access. The only way in is a low arch wide enough for one small boat at a time, at the right hour of the right kind of morning.
Inside, sunlight comes up through the water from below. The cave ceiling reflects it in a blue that does not exist elsewhere.

Itinerary
The approach
Southwest coast. We slow. We check the swell. We only go in if it's flat.
The entrance
A one-metre arch. You duck. The boat glides through.
Inside
We cut the engine. We drift. We don't speak for a while. You'll understand when you're there.
Optional swim
If conditions allow, swim inside the cave. The water is colder — around 19°C — and luminous from below.
Kolones
Out of the cave, a short hop to Kolones — a pillar-rock cove with excellent snorkelling.
